Privacy Policy

Overview

The collection of personal information about individuals by organizations is governed by the Privacy Act 1988 (the Privacy Act) which contains a national scheme for the collection, use, correction, disclosure and transfer of personal information by organizations in the private sector.

Protecting client’s privacy is very important to us. As part of our commitment to ensuring the safety of our client’s private and confidential information and as a mechanism to ensure our compliance with the Privacy Act, we have established and implemented a Privacy Policy (the Policy).

 

Purpose

The Policy explains our policies and practices with respect to the collection and management of personal information we collect from you.

The Privacy Act requires us to handle your personal information in accordance with a set of principles, known as the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Those Principles and our approach to those Principles are set out below.

We will collect and hold your personal information for the purposes of:

  • Providing products and services to you
  • Managing and administering the products and services
  • Letting you know about our other products and services

 

Information Held

ETax Accountant & Associates only collect information that we feel is relevant to perform the activities necessary to pursue our duties, comply with legal requirements and maintain ourselves as a leading professional advisory firm. The nature of this information will vary according to your relationship with the firm and the work we are performing. Our objective is not to hold information about you that is not required to be held.

 

Access to this information

Upon written request to ETax Accountant & Associates, assuming there are no legal reasons preventing us from doing so, ETax Accountant & Associates will provide you with details of all personal information that we hold about you within a reasonable time period. You will be able to review this information and advise us of any amendments to the data held and may request ETax Accountant & Associates to delete any information held. Additionally, you may decline to take part in certain marketing activities in the future by expressly advising us in writing. We will apply your instructions as soon as it is possible to do so.

 

Use and Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

ETax Accountant & Associates will not on-sell personal information to outside parties. We will provide personal information to third parties where we are required to by law, where it is reasonable for us to do so in the spirit of providing services to you (both within the company and via our relationship third parties), where our advisors request it or where you have expressly asked us to do so. At times we may use this information for direct mailing, emailing, etc purposes whereby we consider that the information supplied may be of benefit to you. We retain this information only for as long as necessary to fulfil our provision of services to you and to comply with any legal requirements.

In instances whereby we need to share information with other ETax Accountant & Associates, in order to effectively provide our services, information that you provide may be used by other firms within the ETax Accountant & Associates.

 

Web site and contact details

Technically there are some things we need to do as part of providing web sites and information to you. We store the account sign-on details you have provided to us and record the information you have accessed so that we may provide relevant electronic client services to you. Likewise, we store information such as your email address, etc so that we are able to contact you.

 

Consent

This site is meant to be used for business purposes. By your use of the Site, you consent to the collection, storage, use and dissemination of your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Statement and as otherwise permitted under the Privacy Act.

 

Protection

WE use the best security available to us within our means so that reasonable steps are taken to protect the information we hold. As part of our employment contracts, our staffs are required to sign an Acceptable Use Policy that includes a confidentiality clause.
